WorkLINC supports the core values  of the Independent Living Movement, self determination and personal choice for all individuals regardless of race, creed or disability.

WorkLINC provides Job Readiness and Life Skills assessment  and training. WorkLINC also provides Independent Living Movement education, educational and employment advocacy, linkage with academic tutoring and career training, job shadowing and supported internship opportunities, job coaching, job development and supported employment placement utilizing Wrap around when available, individual and group peer to peer support activities, and resource referral.

LINC (The Living Independently Now Center) was founded in 1989 as a not-for-profit consumer-driven
organization serving people with disabilities an St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties in Illinois. LINCs mission is to empower persons with disabilities to live independently and to promote accessibility and inclusion in all areas of life

St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties have few services that assist youth with disabilities in transitioning from educational placements to employment. WorkLINC is building programs that meets this need in a consumer driven environment while teaching transitioning youth ages 17-21 how to integrate successfully into the employment arena.Youth who are taught the values of the Independent Living Movement have a greater understanding of their own abilities and are more apt to resist society’s labels and constraints that seek to disable their spirit
